I try to keep my weekends as balanced as I can. One weekend each month I try to go somewhere and relax. Even if it's just meeting friends who don't live nearby for dinner. This past Labor Day Weekend I visited my cousin on Long Island. Next weekend I'll be having dinner with a different cousin in Hoboken. The other weeks of the month I try to keep up with the inside and outside of the house. While making time to enjoy my grand kids. This past weekend fell into place just right. My daughter Kim and I mowed the front and back yards. I finished repairing and re-staining all the railroad ties in front of my house. Then came inside to finish restoring a desk that I first brought home from work 25 years ago. My oldest son has been using it for years. He left it in pretty bad shape when he moved out. So I've been slowly trying to make it nice again. I finished that project this past weekend too. I'm very happy with the way the desk turned out. Saturday night was a beautiful evening to grill. So I made us ribs and mini potatoes on the grill. We dip the ribs in the barbecue sauce later. Since each member of my family likes different sauce. Sunday morning I served as the worship leader for my church. Sunday afternoon we had a Halloween Cookie decorating party with my grand kids and their friends. Check out the pictures below. Especially, the beautiful desk!
