My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Keeping Busy.

This was definitely an Epic Weekend In Pictures I won't forget anytime soon. This weekend was yet another reminder of how lucky I am to have so many wonderful friends. They're definitely fantastic at helping me stay busy. My travels didn't necessarily take me too far away from Campus in Vernon, but far enough for some memorable outdoor Fall fun. I always say Fall is my favorite season here in Jersey. The Fall Foliage keeps getting better, and everyone wants to be outside while we still have that option.

Friday night started my weekend off strong! Work Bestie Shawn and I went to Crystal Springs Black Bear Golf Club in Franklin for their Bourbon & BBQ event. As I joked on the radio, bourbon and barbecue? These are a few of my favorite things, LOL. The weather was fantastic for this wonderful event. The smells of beef on the smoker were fantastic. Talk about a terrific Fall Friday night. The Three Chords Bourbon was smooth and tasty. I'm very happy they serve them in thimbles, otherwise it would risk me lifting up my skirt, LOL. I even tried out for the $300 Putting Competition. Everyone was watching me and I had to go first. I told the crowd "I'll go first as the guinea pig so you can all learn from my mistakes! My shot was decent, but not strong enough to land me in the top final 5. All good. It was fun. Work Bestie Shawn had to leave a little early once she realized her phone was still at the radio station. Welp Welp. I then had tons of fun with my new friends Barbara, Tom, Mary Lou and Jess. I ended up playing Pool with them for a couple of games and that was memorable. My first time playing pool in a few years. I actually got on a decent roll the second game and helped my team win! We then ventured over to the dart boards. All of this was outside at Black Bear Golf Club where the energy was so fun. I showed them all how to play Cricket style of darts, where you need to basically need to get 3 shots on 20-15 and 3 Bulls Eye shots. They had never played before but sure had fun learning all about it.

I then ventured back home to watch The Red Sox play game 1 in the American League Championship Series. I fell asleep while we were winning, woke up again to see that we lost. I don't think I've been able to stay up for a whole game yet they run so long and late.

Saturday morning I was able to get some errands done, like buying new underwear at Walmart. LOL. Over the past couple of years I've grown to like the new styles / fabrics that they've had in stores. I think after this weekend I'm 100% out with the old and in with the new. Sorry for all of the mental images I may have just thrown at you.

Saturday afternoon off to Pennings Farm in Warwick. What a HUGE crowd they get on Fall weekends. As I'm driving by The Great Pumpkin Festival at Heaven Hill Farm in Vernon, all I can see is a sea of cars as far as the eye can see. Our area is definitely a popular tourist destination for locals and visitors, that's for sure.

I was off to see my friends Sally and Doug, along with so many of our friends we have met at Minerals Sports Club throughout the past several years. Minerals Sports Club is far much more than a gym. I was happy to meet Kobi and Al, they were the live music entertainment at Pennings on this beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon. Well, the weather was beautiful until the end. Kobi and Al were great and kept playing familiar cover songs that everyone knew and sang along to. So often I've seen cover bands try to hard and play their favorite obscure songs. Fortunately, Kobi and Al know how to give the people what they want. I had fun seeing Sally's sister Vicki and Brother In Law Joe who were visiting from West Virginia. They graciously hosted us for the weekend when we traveled to see my Patriots play against The Steelers in Pittsburgh almost 5 years ago to the date. It was great to see more friends I met at Minerals Sports Club like Maegann and Floyd, Liz and Patrick, Bruce, John and several more. Credit to Maegann and Floyd who made me laugh harder than I have in quite some time. Maegann was wearing a cute jean skirt and sitting across the lawn from me. She sat down from her chair to the lawn and I turned away. She said "I probably just gave a free show!" I said "You did but don't worry, I was a gentleman and looked away." To my surprise, she immediately responded with "well why did you look away, what am I not worthy over here?" Floyd returned and I said "Floyd I need help with your wife, she's yelling at me for NOT looking up her skirt!" He just cracked up.

As the afternoon progressed, the clouds became grayer and grayer. By 4:30, the skies went from gray to black. We were able to help the band pack up all of their electric equipment pretty quickly. The skies opened up and it started to heavily downpour on all of us. Sally went to the portapotty and asked me to hold her stuff. She hands me some items including a blue mesh kind of bag. Minutes later in the rain, Sally realizes she can't find her purse anywhere, which was holding her phone and keys. I let her borrow my phone to call her friends and family who now had all scattered and left to dodge the heavy rain. The team at Pennings Farm was so understanding and helpful while we were looking for the missing purse. Just when we had given up and were ready to leave, Sally looks over at me. "STEVE WAIT, OMG, MY PURSE IS ON YOUR RIGHT ARM!" In my defense, to me this didn't look like a purse, just a blue mesh bag. She was so busy frantically looking down on the ground for her purse, while I was usually right beside her looking, we missed it. Go figure. Comedy gold.

Saturday night I was able to relax at home watching The Red Sox Game 2. They won woohoo. Sunday morning I went to Pro Cutters in Franklin and got a nice haircut from My Stylist Jenn. She was great. Jenn's always supportive and there for me whenever I've been going through some tough times.

Sunday early afternoon I went to see friends for football Sunday Funday at The Irish Cottage Inn. I noticed my friend Damian was wearing a special shirt dedicated to fighting Breast Cancer. As you might know, every October I team up with Newton Medical Center to #AskHer. This is where we encourage ladies to text #AskHer to 555-888 and schedule their annual mammogram. It's one of the most important things I get to do every year. This team at The Cottage, led by Ann Carrick Kasa had just held a walk to aid breast cancer research. Ann is not only amazing at leading this, she's also a survivor. I was honored to include them with my Epic Weekend In Pictures.

Sunday afternoon it was probably predictable where I would be. On my living room couch and pacing around watching The Dallas Cowboys take on my New England Patriots. It's always surreal watching Patriots home games, knowing that it's only a 12 minute drive from my parents (on Non game days that is, on game days still 3 hours minimum.)

The Patriots played well, The Cowboys simply made more plays than they did. The Cowboys won in an overtime thriller. Well thriller if you're a Cowboys or non Patriots fan (most, lol) but sad and back breaking if you're a Patriots fan.

Overall I had a terrific weekend with my friends. I'm very lucky to have my family and friends. Thank you for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
