With Halloween rapidly approaching, grocery and discount stores offer no shortage of candy choices. But which candy is most popular in the Garden State?

Following closely are M&M’s with 145,453 pounds sold, and Skittles at 145,295 pounds. Meanwhile, in the Empire State, Sour Patch Kids reign supreme, clinching the top spot. Hot Tamales and Candy Corn take second and third places respectively.

Topping the list in Pennsylvania are Hershey's Mini Bars, M&M's, and Skittles.

This year’s Halloween is expected to be sweeter than ever. The National Retail Federation reports that Americans are projected to spend a whopping $3.6 billion on Halloween candy, a 16% increase from previous highs.
