One year after being named New Jersey Teacher of the Year, Toms River educator Christine Girtain is once again in the spotlight. This time, she has been honored with The National Education Association’s Foundation Award for Teaching Excellence. This prestigious award recognizes exceptional educators nationwide, and this year, Girtain is among 42 distinguished teachers to receive this honor.

Girtain’s impact to education extends beyond just the classroom. As the Director of Authentic Science Research at Toms River North and South High Schools, she has made significant contributions to the field of science education.
