Al new list of the most “Christmassy” towns in America features two in New Jersey. According to the report by Mixbook, Cape May and Morristown ranked 53rd and 64th respectively for their festive spirit and holiday charm.
Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, known for its year-round Christmas-themed identity, leads the list, followed by Durango, Colorado, and Lake Placid, New York. The top ten also includes Stowe, Vermont, Alexandria, Virginia, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, Stockbridge, Massachusetts, Holland, Michigan, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and North Pole, Alaska.
However, in the Garden State, the spotlight is on Cape May and Morristown, which have been lauded for their unique Christmas celebrations. Cape May, a historic seaside gem, transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season. Its Victorian-style houses are adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations, creating a magical atmosphere that captivates both residents and visitors.
Morristown, on the other hand, offers a more traditional Christmas experience. The town’s annual “Christmas Festival at the Morristown Green” is a beloved event that features ice sculpting, miniature train rides, and a visit from Santa Claus himself. The festival’s highlight is the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree, a moment that brings the community together in celebration.
Rhinebeck in New York’s Hudson Valley also made the list at 23rd, while an Upstate New York town, Skaneateles, is ranked 73rd.
