Bull That Delayed Trains in Newark Relocated to Sussex County

Last Thursday, a wayward bull found its way onto the tracks near Newark's Penn Station in New Jersey, causing significant delays train delays for both Amtrak and New Jersey Transit - and no small amount of public intrigue. The bull, now named Ricardo, was reported to have escaped from a nearby slaughterhouse and subsequently made its way to the busy train station. The bull has since found a safe haven at Skylands Animal Sanctuary.

Ricardo's adventure began late last week and quickly became a hot topic on social media. The copper-colored bull was spotted wandering the tracks between Newark and New York City's Penn Station, leading to delays of up to 45 minutes on Thursday morning. The unexpected sight drew attention from commuters and online spectators alike, with many expressing concern for the bull's welfare.

Local officials were able to tranquilize Ricardo and ensure his safe removal from the tracks. His adventurous escapade ended with a happy resolution as he was taken to Skylands Animal Sanctuary. The sanctuary, known for its work in rescuing and rehabilitating farmed animals, quickly took to social media to update the public on Ricardo's condition and whereabouts.

Skylands Animal Sanctuary, located in Wantage, New Jersey, provides an environment where animals can live out their lives in peace after escaping from or being saved from exploitative conditions. The sanctuary is home to over 400 animals, including turkeys, cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and goats. Now, Ricardo joins this diverse family, marking another successful rescue mission for the sanctuary.
