Residents of New Jersey who ordered for delivery from Chick-Fil-A during the COVID-19 pandemic could be eligible to participate in the settlement of a class-action lawsuit over inflated delivery prices during the pandemic. The gift cards, worth $29.25, are being offered to qualifying customers who submit a claim by February 15th.

The lawsuit stems from orders made through the Chick-Fil-A mobile app or website for delivery from a Chick-Fil-A location in California, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, or New York between November 1, 2019, and April 30, 2021. Customers who made such orders are considered settlement class members and may be entitled to relief.

Settlement class members who submit a timely and valid claim form could receive either a cash settlement award or a gift card, each valued at a maximum of $29.25. The final amounts could see a proportional downward adjustment depending on the number of claims received and the types of awards elected from the pool of $4.4 million earmarked for the settlement.

Chick-fil-A is one of the largest chicken fast food restaurants in America, offering chicken sandwiches, tenders, milkshakes, and more. Headquartered in Georgia, the chain operates some 3,000 locations across the country, including approximately 60 in the Garden State.
