New Jersey is bracing itself for another bout of winter weather heading into Presidents' Day Weekend. A winter weather advisory has been issued for the vast majority of the state effective from 10 PM tonight until 10 AM Saturday. Residents are advised to prepare for total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches. Inland areas south of Trenton are under a winter storm warning with 4-6 inches of snow expected.
The snowfall is expected to create potentially hazardous road conditions. As a result, local authorities are urging residents to plan accordingly and use caution while traveling. The snow may briefly intensify late tonight before tapering off early Saturday. This rapid accumulation could lead to slippery roads and sidewalks, increasing the risk of accidents for both drivers and pedestrians.
This advisory and warning comes less than a week after many areas of the Garden State saw some of the most significant snowfalls in recent history. Some areas of the state received upwards of 15 inches on Tuesday, causing schools and businesses to be closed. Warmer weather in the following two days helped melt most of the snow.
