Father John's Animal House Honors iHeartRadio's Steve Allan

Father John's Animal House, a Lafayette-based animal shelter, has launched a new initiative called "Thankful Thursdays." This program honors community members who've shown exceptional dedication to helping animals find their forever homes. The first honoree of this monthly recognition is Steve Allan from iHeartRadio.

Allan was surprised with the honor by Garret Barcheski, the Shelter Director, and Rhianna Montanez Velez, the PR & Volunteer Coordinator. As part of the Thankful Thursday initiative, anyone mentioning Allan's name at the shelter will receive a 50% discount on adoption fees for that day.

For years, Allan has featured an adoptable pet of the week from the shelter on 102.3 WSUS and 103.7 NNJ, helping hundreds of dogs and cats successfully get adopted.

Father John's Animal House has been active since 1999 and proudly boasts over 5,000 successful adoptions. The shelter is committed to providing veterinary care, housing, food, companionship and rehabilitation time for homeless pets. Many of these animals come from local municipal shelters or are surrendered by their owners.

The team at Father John’s includes experienced staff members and volunteers dedicated to animal welfare. They work tirelessly to ensure all animals receive necessary medical care and love during their stay at the shelter.

The main goal of Father John’s is to find loving homes for homeless pets while also serving as an information resource for responsible pet ownership in the community. Their commitment extends to ensuring no adoptable animal is ever euthanized due to breed, age, space requirements or treatable conditions.

For those interested in supporting Father John’s Animal House or adopting a pet, they can visit the shelter between 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM daily except Wednesdays and Fridays when visits are by appointment only.
