New Jersey's gaming revenue has seen an 8.3% increase compared to last year, according to the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement. The total gaming revenue for May 2024 was $510 million, up from $470.9 million in May 2023.
The nine casino hotel properties in the state reported a casino win of $239.1 million for May 2024, reflecting a 5.2% increase compared to $227.3 million reported in May 2023. Internet gaming win reported by casinos and their partners was $192.1 million, reflecting a growth of 19.0% when compared to $161.4 million reported in May 2023.
Sports wagering gross revenue reported by casinos, racetracks, and their partners was $78.8 million for May 2024, reflecting a 4.2% decrease when compared to $82.2 million reported in May 2023.
Despite the overall increase in gaming revenue, some casinos saw a decrease in in-person winnings. Only three casinos — Borgata, Ocean and Hard Rock — won more from in-person gamblers last month than they did in May 2019.
The new figures come as the state's casinos and tracks have taken in over $6 billion worth of sports bets so far this year, keeping $513 million of that as revenue.
