Macy's 48th annual July 4th fireworks show is set to return to the Hudson River, providing New Jersey residents with front-row seats for the first time in over a decade. The move from the East River to the Hudson River has sparked excitement in waterfront towns such as Hoboken, Weehawken, Edgewater, and Jersey City.

The fireworks show, scheduled for 9:25 p.m. EST on Thursday, July 4th, will feature a pyrotechnics team firing more than 60,000 shells in 30 colors and debuting special patriotic effects. The spectacle will be preceded by a 25-minute show featuring musical performances by Mickey Guyton, Lainey Wilson, Brandy Clark, and others.

"New Jersey is proud to celebrate Independence Day this year with a dazzling display of fireworks planned in collaboration with our neighbors across the Hudson,” said New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy. The governor thanked New York City Mayor Eric Adams for helping New Jersey join this year's celebration of independence.

The fireworks show will be visible from Manhattan between West 14th and West 34th streets, and Macy's promises a spectacle with "thousands of shells and an array of effects". The event will be broadcast live on NBC and Peacock from the Hudson River in New York City.

The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show has been a tradition since 1976 and is considered a highlight of the Independence Day festivities for millions of Americans.
