My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Summer Fun With Rock, Ribs & Ridges

Talk about a memorable, classic summer weekend. The majority of my weekend was at The Sussex County Fairgrounds for the Rock, Ribs & Ridges concert festival. Friday night I was able to see Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, which was a special sight. It's like you could feel the history coming off of the stage from them, knowing their history with Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi, and even The Soprano's. I was their to greet our WNNJ Backstage Pass VIP winners Linda and Alan. I was so honored to meet them. Alan served for us in The Army from 1979 until he retired just weeks before 9 - 11. Linda and Alan were an absolutely adorable, appreciative couple. I'm very happy they were able to win this experience. They did their picture on stage, then I asked them to join my selfie. Linda and Alan looked pleasantly surprised saying "we have NEVER been in a selfie before!" The minute I swung my iPhone around Alan remarked "oh wow, you definitely seem to know what you're doing that's for sure." I told him that it's just due to heavy practice on my end. The weather was absolutely tremendous to kick off Rock, Ribs & Ridges. Borasio from NNJ and The Bear was fantastic as the weekend emcee. He always knows how to keep everything moving while he's up there, and always handles fluid situations well.

Saturday morning I ran some quick errands before making my way back to The Sussex County Fairgrounds. All weekend I kept thinking how funny it is that for some reason I always end up at The Fairgrounds. I was just there two weeks ago officiating a wedding!

Saturday afternoon I arrived at The Fairgrounds just before 12:30pm. I enjoyed hanging with my besties Christine and Chris. The weather was decent but the clouds kept building and building. I ended up leaving at approximately 3:30pm as the skies kept getting darker. While I was there, all you could smell was delicious food all over the place. I ended up going to The Cowboy BBQ stop straight out of Texas, and had delicious brisket. Last year the ribs I did there were okay, but the brisket was definitely fantastic.

Sunday I declared myself off for the day. I took the day off from seeing Rock Ribs & Ridges at The Fairgrounds, and instead relaxed at my happy place, Crystal Springs Resort 180 Vista Pool. I was able to relax and soak in some rays with besties Shawn and Turner. We had a great time with many laughs. It was also fun watching some golfers hitting amazing shots ahead of an amateur tournament happening this week.

Our pool day was cut short due to the heavy thunderstorms we ended up getting. All good, as we were leaving I said to Shawn "even just 2 hours here is still better than being almost anywhere else." She agreed. We definitely made our time count!

Thank you for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend. Fourth Of July! #WhatCanPossiblyGoWrong?
