My Epic Weekend In Pictures wasn't the most eventful of weekends, but still productive and successful. Friday afternoon my dear friend Christine reached out to me and asked if I was at work. I confirmed that I was at work but a free agent once I was done for the day. We agreed to meet up at Alias in Vernon. The weather was fantastic for it. I was then able to meet up with friends Brad and Carrie also at Alias. We all had a great time catching each other up on all of our recent events. I did a New England IPA there that was quite good. I feel like each time I go back to Alias they improved from a previous visit. I'd definitely rather be on an upward swing than downward, that's for sure. We then ventured over to Minerals Moonshine Tiki Bar after that and had a great time taking in the beautiful weather.
Saturday morning my main mission was to get a new pair of sandals. Nothing too crazy. I went to Middletown, NY. I really love having so many stores in close proximity, even if you strike out at one there's always another chance at success with another store. I went to TJ Maxx first and had no luck there. They were packed on top of that, bullet dodged. I then tried Old Navy. No luck. Burlington Coat Factory. No luck. I then tried Macy's at the mall. No luck. I finally scored on sandals at another shoe store in the mall. My first ever pair of Crocs, and I hate to admit how comfortable they are. These are definitely the most comfortable sandals I've ever had. I was targeting to get a $15 pair, instead got the Crocs for $40. All good, the quality is definitely twice as better than my typical sandals, so that's all good. I then went to a new BBQ place at the mall. I wasn't totally sure what I wanted to eat for lunch. I was craving barbecue, but didn't feel like committing over $20 for a brisket when not sure if I would even like it. I ended up ordering their NY Strip steak. I was excited chopping into it, but that excitement immediately turned to disappointment. It was almost too tough to even cut through. They did a great job making it medium rare, but I didn't want to commit eating it. They were able to take it off my bill right away, I pivoted and ordered a bacon burger medium rare. They did a great job with that for sure.
Saturday night I was able to chill on my deck, enjoy the weather and go to bed early. Nothing wrong with a nice, quiet chill night in. Sunday morning I went to Granny's in Hamburg for my breakfast of champions. I was hungry and ate the whole meal while seeing some old friends and making new ones. You always feel like you're part of the family at Granny's, that's for sure.
Sunday I was able to relax for a couple of hours at my Heaven on Earth happy place, Crystal Springs Vista 180 Pool. It was hot and the pool felt fantastic. It was great hanging out with work bestie Shawn, Stacey, and Ruby. It was great seeing our friend Gary Laursen there like a normal fun Sunday. Former NBA star Alonzo Mourning was apparently hosting a charity golf outting, so they were packed!
Overall, it wasn't the most action packed Epic Weekend but still successful. I'm wearing my new sandals as we speak! Time to start planning next weekend.
