My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Summer Fun With A Bear!

This was definitely a classic summer weekend in New Jersey! I had fun poolside on Sunday beating the heat, and had my first bear encounter in quite some time. Friday after work I went to Ballyowen at Crystal Springs to enjoy our beautiful weather and watch golfers take some swings. We are so lucky to have such a gorgeous golf course nearby. When you're at Ballyowen, it feels like you're in Ireland or Scotland as opposed to New Jersey. It is easily one of the best views in New Jersey. It was so therapeutic going there that it made me get the itch to play a round of golf again sometime soon. I just went to Walmart and bought new golf balls that I plan on losing there in the hopefully not too distant future. I thought about it over the weekend. If I don't utilize the beauty around where I live, then shame on me! I have nobody to blame but myself on that one. Hopefully I'll be golfing again soon, and we can alert everyone to duck. FORE!

Saturday morning I was able to get minor errands done like laundry and dry cleaning drop off. It's been so hot this summer at work I've been rocking my polo shirts almost daily instead of my dress shirts. I was reminded how long it's been since I dropped off dry cleaning, as I turned in my suit that I wore while officiating the wedding on Father's Day. I looked at my suit and said to myself aloud "wow, has it really been this long since I've gone to the cleaners?" It apparently has been that long. I was then able to make the rounds and see some friends. It was great getting to catch up with besties Brad and JG. They had a fun, terrific band Saturday night at Minerals Moonshine Tiki Bar too! All weekend, I was looking forward to Sunday.

Sunday I was able to bring my bestie Sally with me to Crystal Springs Vista 180 Pool. Sally asked me a few weeks ago if I could bring her with me sometime. She's been here for a few decades but had never been to The Crystal Springs Vista 180 Pool. I couldn't wait to bring her to my heaven on Earth happy place. She got recognized more often than I did from all of the Body Pump Classes she teaches. I got a kick out of that. I was so excited I even gave Sally a tour all the way around the pool. She loved it. It's always fun seeing someone's eyes open so wide when they see all of the beauty right in front of them. We had a great day. We had fun watching golfers play. I told Sally how quite often when you're at the pool you feel like you're on the verge of crashing a wedding. Surely enough, we were able to see a wedding nearby taking pictures on the beautiful Wild Turkey Golf Course. My bestie Sally was one of the very first friends I met here over 10 years ago. I'll never forget it. It was my first football Sunday here, and I went to The Irish Cottage to watch my Patriots. I had just moved here to Jersey and was kind of trying to keep to myself with my Patriots love. I intentionally got there early and went over to one of their smaller televisions so I wouldn't be bothering anyone. All of the sudden during the Patriots game, I get a tap on my shoulder. There was Sally, wearing a Patriots Tom Brady jersey! I couldn't believe my eyes. I honestly thought it was a set up of some sort and that there would be Jets fans right behind her getting ready to jump me in my Belichick hoody. Ten years later and she's one of those amazing friends where no matter how much time has passed since you've last seen each other, you always pick up right where you left off as if no time off was had at all.

Then last night as I was watching my Red Sox get crushed by The Yankees, I saw my first bear around my place in several weeks. I was wondering where they had all been hiding.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
