The Pennsylvania State Police are yet to reveal the cause of a crash that closed a section of I-84 in Pike County over the weekend. The accident occurred just after 10 a.m. on Saturday between Exits 30 and 26. According to a press release from the Pennsylvania State Police Blooming Grove, the driver of a 2020 Ford Escape lost control and rear-ended a 2023 Mercedes Benz GLC. The impact sent the Ford into the westbound fog lane and into a ditch.
Three people were transported to the hospital following the crash. One person sustained serious injuries, another had minor injuries, and the third person was unharmed. There were no fatalities reported. The Pennsylvania State Police Blooming Grove and the Blooming Grove Fire Department responded to the crash. The section of I-84 that was closed due to the accident has since been reopened.
