Major Road Closure in Stroud Township for Road Work

Road Closed Signs as Snow Falls

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced a major road closure in Stroud Township, Monroe County. Starting Monday, Route 209 at Shafers Schoolhouse Road will be closed for road work. The closure will be in effect 24/7 and is expected to last until the end of August.

Drivers will not be able to make turns or drive across Route 209 at Shafers Schoolhouse Road during this period. PennDOT has advised motorists to expect traffic delays and suggests avoiding the intersection altogether. Detour signs will be in place to guide drivers around the closure.

According to PAhomepage.com, the road work is part of a major improvement project in the Poconos. The exact nature of the improvements has not been specified.
