U.S. News & World Report Recognizes Centenary University

Centenary University in Hackettstown has been recognized as a Top Performer in Social Mobility by U.S. News & World Report's 2025 Best Colleges rankings. The university has improved its ranking to ninth among regional universities in the Northeast, a significant leap from last year's 23rd place.

The designation acknowledges Centenary University's success in advancing the careers and lives of its graduates, particularly first-generation students and those facing economic challenges. The university's initiatives, such as Life Circumstances Admissions, focus on achieving equitable outcomes for recipients of federal Pell Grants, which are primarily awarded to students whose adjusted gross family income is under $50,000 annually.

Centenary University, founded in 1867, has a total undergraduate enrollment of 1,026 as of fall 2023. The university's ranking in the 2025 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities North, #97, according to U.S. News & World Report.
