The borough of Matamoras is enforcing an October curfew for children under 18 years of age. The curfew, which is in effect from October 1 to November 2, requires minors to be home by 8 p.m. each night. The curfew lasts until 6 a.m. the following day, according to Matamoras Borough Ordinance 56-1 B.
The curfew is designed to prevent potential mischief during the Halloween season. However, it does not apply to children who are accompanied by a parent, guardian, or other person with legal custody. This exception allows for later hours during trick-or-treating activities.
The Pike County Courier reports that the borough leaders are reminding the community about the curfew to ensure a safe and orderly Halloween season.
