New Jersey voters are making crucial decisions in the 2024 elections, including choosing a replacement for former Senator Bob Menendez, who resigned following a corruption conviction. The Senate race is between Democratic Congressman Andy Kim and Republican hotel entrepreneur Curtis Bashaw, both from South Jersey. This race is considered the GOP's best chance of flipping a Senate seat in New Jersey in over 50 years.

According to NBC Philadelphia, Kim, a three-term House member, is up against Bashaw, a first-time candidate and businessman from Cape May. Kim, who was the first Asian-American from New Jersey elected to the House, could become the first Korean-American in the Senate if elected. Bashaw, a moderate Republican, has personally financed his campaign with at least $1 million.

In addition to the Senate race, all 12 congressional seats in New Jersey are up for grabs. One of the tightest House races is in North Jersey between incumbent Congressman Tom Kean, Junior and his Democratic challenger Sue Altman. Yankton.net reports that a recent Monmouth University Poll shows Kean leading Altman by just 2 percentage points, making the race too close to call.
