Travelers flying out of Newark Liberty International Airport are facing significant delays due to heavy wind gusts and an equipment outage. As of Thursday (December 5), 316 flights have been delayed at Newark, making it the most affected among the New York-area airports. LaGuardia Airport is reporting 310 delays, while John F. Kennedy International Airport has 259 delays.

According to a report by AOL, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) noted that some flights arriving at Newark are delayed by an average of 119 minutes. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that flights are still arriving and departing, despite the challenges.

Travelers are advised to check with their airlines for the latest updates on their flights before heading to the airport. The situation remains fluid, and passengers should prepare for potential changes to their travel plans.
