Governor Shapiro's administration has introduced six new military-themed license plates in Pennsylvania, honoring veterans. Announced on Wednesday (December 4) in Harrisburg, these plates recognize the service of veterans, with three specifically for women veterans and others acknowledging the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve, and the Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal.

The plates are available for a fee of $26 and can be used on passenger cars or trucks with a registered gross weight of up to 14,000 pounds. To obtain these plates, applicants must provide proof of eligibility, such as a completed application form and a photocopy of their Form DD-214, which details their military service.

Kara Templeton, PennDOT Deputy Secretary for Driver and Vehicle Services, expressed pride in recognizing the military community's accomplishments. Brigadier General John Pippy, Acting Adjutant General, highlighted the significance of including plates that honor women veterans for their contributions to national defense.
