Thank You For Helping Make Our 2nd 12 Strays Of Christmas Amazing!

I think it's safe to say we can definitely call this an Epic Weekend In Pictures. Most of the time you wouldn't call my Weekend really Epic at all. I watched my share of Christmas movies again, had fun with some friends, enjoyed watching football Sunday, usual December fun. Saturday morning is definitely what made my Weekend Epic.

Saturday morning we did our 2nd Annual 12 Strays Of Christmas. I'm so grateful for everyone that helped. When I came up with this idea a few years ago, many thought I was crazy. They might not have been wrong, but I knew this big mission could be possible with the right people helping. Our 12 Strays Of Christmas starts off as a local Pet Food & Supply Drive, benefitting Father John's Animal House, OSCAR, and The Sussex County Division Of Social Services Food Pantry. We want to help both local pets, and also people as well. This couldn't be possible without the help of you! By listening to us on the radio, by watching, liking and sharing our fun videos, you make a huge difference. Thank you! This also wouldn't be possible without the support again from my friends at Scotty's Automotive in Montague on 206, and Sussex Rural Electric.

Last year our video at Father John's Animal House for 12 Strays Of Christmas was so beyond amazing, I stressed to everyone all year that we didn't even want to change a thing. We have 6 dogs come out one by one with a volunteer who can help tell their story. We have it set up to basically replicate a runway during a fashion show or pageant. These pups were all so loving and amazing, each in their own very special way. They differed in age, size, breed, but all shared the common denominator of having huge hearts. Last year we were able to get 10 out of our 12 Strays adopted within 4 days of our Facebook live video! Within a couple of weeks, all of them ended up going home to their new Furever Families! I'm hoping we can have similar success this year too.

Father John's does a tremendous job helping with my Adopt A Pet Of The Week year round. Their whole team of volunteers were all amazing in helping us pull off this massive video project. A Facebook Live video can be challenging with one single pet, let alone 12!!!!

Despite the cold weather, we had a great time. Shout out to Steve Andrews and Borasio on our Team. This couldn't be possible without them helping us on the radio talking about it, then helping do our Facebook Live video as part of our grand finale celebration party. This was a wonderful weekend I'll never forget.

Driving away after the event, I could feel myself tear up with happy, prideful tears. I even called my Mom, Madre and told her "okay, The Boy did pretty well today." Huge win for hopefully the pets and their new families. Hopefully a huge win for our radio stations too!

Saturday night, I was so happy to chill and watch Christmas movies. Aside from football, I have basically taken a little break from watching the normal shows and movies that normally make their way into my Weekend In Pictures. Just like I was saying to Steve Andrews on 102.3 WSUS this morning during our daily 8:45 crossover feature, there's only a week and a half left of Christmas movies more or less. Why not just take a break, enjoy these many wonderful movies, then get back to what we normally watch in January?

I saw the ending of the most recent Grinch movie they came out with in 2018 or 2019. That one has never impressed me much. My friends make fun of me for being the ultimate Grinch, when Grinch is my favorite movie series but there are ones even I don't like. I'll give that Grinch another shot, to be fair. Jim Carrey Grinch is still my favorite, and that was on right after. I was happy with that. Then another Home Alone and Home Alone 2 back to back? That means my Saturday night plan is done and I'm happy!

Sunday I helped a friend take her car to the shop, then ventured over to Marley's Gotham Grill in Hackettstown for some Nuclear wings and they did not disappoint! Despite the very cold weather, those hot wings definitely helped me thaw out a little bit.

Despite my besties trying numerous times to talk me into going to the New York Giants game at MetLife Stadium Sunday, it was a relatively easy decline on my part. Simply put, I just didn't want to be standing out in the cold for hours. They have one home game left December 29th against the Indianapolis Colts, there's a chance I might go to that one if I'm home in time after visiting my family for Christmas that week.

I was so happy to watch football at The Irish Cottage Inn yesterday with some friends who also love football. I was very happy to be warm, indoors and comfortable. My besties Artie, Margie and Roy all showed up after they lasted almost 3 quarters at MetLife for the Giants game.

I was so happy there were multiple games on TV, so I wasn't just stuck watching my New England Patriots drive me nuts. Is it their coaches who drive me insane or their lack of talent? Definitely both, but their coaches, god bless them for the many many hours they put into everything, have me frustrated and disappointed. They have such a very tough job, but their lack of situational awareness both during and after the game is annoying me.

Gee, and they wondered why my favorite Bill Belichick did so many things the way he did them?

Overall we had an amazing weekend. Enjoy watching our 12 Strays Of Christmas video! You can see it above, and on our Facebook pages too for 102.3 WSUS, 103.7 NNJ, and 106.3 The Bear!

Time to start planning next weekend!
