The National Park Service (NPS) is proposing to increase fees at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in Pennsylvania. The proposed changes include raising the amenity fees from $10 to $20 per vehicle, extending the fee season, and introducing fees at two additional sites. These changes aim to generate more revenue to address rising costs, increased visitation, and maintenance needs. The funds will be used to enhance visitor experiences, improve trails, and hire additional staff.
Public comments on the proposed fee increases are open until January 14, 2025. The NPS encourages feedback from the public, which can be submitted through the park's website or by mail. The park's Public Affairs Specialist, Kathleen Sandt, can be contacted for more information at (570) 234-9144.
