The Pennsylvania State Police is actively seeking new recruits and encouraging residents of the Poconos to apply. The recruitment drive, which began on Monday (January 1), is open to individuals aged 20 to 39 who are interested in joining the force. Applicants must be ready to undergo a 28-week resident training program.

To qualify, candidates must possess a high school diploma or a G.E.D. certificate. They must also meet specific medical and physical requirements, including passing a hearing test and having healthy gums and teeth. Tattoos and ear plugs must not be visible when wearing the department-issued long-sleeved uniform shirt.

The application cycle is open until March 31, 2025, and interested individuals can find more information and apply at patrooper.com. The Pennsylvania State Police emphasizes its commitment to diversity and seeks candidates from various cultural, gender, and ethnic backgrounds.

Applicants are encouraged to schedule their written exams through Pearson VUE using a unique ID number provided via email. The department is an equal opportunity employer and aims to reflect the communities it serves.
