Milford is gearing up for its second annual St. Patrick's Day Parade this Sunday (March 16). The parade, which honors the borough's Irish heritage, will begin at 2 p.m. at the corner of Ann and 5th Streets. The event promises to be a festive celebration with over 80 marching units, including floats, antique cars, and local bands like the Scranton Black Diamonds and the Wallenpaupack High School marching band.
The parade route will take participants from Ann Street/5th Street, turning onto W. Harford Street, then onto Broad Street, and finally ending at St. Patrick's Church. This year's Grand Marshals are Bernadette and Brian O’Donnell, long-time Milford residents originally from Donegal, Ireland. They have been active in the community and are proud to represent their heritage in the parade.
Last year, the parade attracted approximately 3,000 attendees, and organizers expect even more this year. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early due to limited parking, with a shuttle service available from the Milford Beach parking lot to 2nd Street. Local restaurants, including sponsors Jive Bar and Dimmick Inn, will offer food and drink specials throughout the day.
