The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is organizing dedicated REAL ID Days to assist residents in obtaining REAL ID-compliant driver's licenses or photo IDs. These IDs will be required starting May 7, 2025, for boarding domestic flights and entering federal facilities. The next REAL ID Day in the Poconos is scheduled for Monday (March 31) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Milford Driver License Center on West Hartford Street in Pike County.

During these events, attendees can have their documents verified, and they will receive their REAL ID by mail within 15 business days. According to PennDOT's official website, these dedicated days are held when the centers are typically closed, ensuring focused service for REAL ID processing.

REAL ID is optional in Pennsylvania, but it is necessary for those who wish to fly domestically or access certain federal buildings after the enforcement date. Residents can still obtain a REAL ID after the deadline if needed. For those unsure about whether they need a REAL ID, PennDOT offers an online wizard to help determine necessity and document requirements. More than 2.5 million Pennsylvanians have already opted for a REAL ID, according to PennDOT.

Anyone interested in obtaining a REAL ID should prepare the necessary documents and visit the Milford Driver License Center on the designated day. For more information on document requirements and additional REAL ID Days, residents can visit the PennDOT website.
