Newark International Airport experienced smooth operations over the Memorial Day weekend, with no significant delays reported. The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey confirmed that the airport maintained normal operations throughout the holiday period.
The decrease in air travel contributed to the lack of delays, as the government has implemented a cutback in flights over the coming months. During the holiday weekend, more than 334,000 travelers were screened at Newark Airport, marking a nearly ten percent drop from the same period last year.
A spokesperson for the Port Authority emphasized that the airport's operations were efficient, ensuring a hassle-free experience for travelers. The reduction in flight volume is part of a broader strategy to manage air traffic and improve overall travel conditions.
