My Epic Weekend In Pictures: A Fun, Beautiful Fall Weekend!

This was definitely a gorgeous weekend in Sussex County, New Jersey! The last time we had a beautiful weekend like this was a few weeks ago, when I was up on Cape Cod, Massachusetts getting 9 inches of rain on all of us. I was very excited going into the weekend. Friday night I met up with some friends at happy hour. One of my friends Matt, I learned is a Marine Veteran. Talk about perfect timing as we are rounding up Veterans for Vets Rock on our Classic Rock 103.7 NNJ station! I asked and he said yes! I cannot wait to hear Matt on our radio station. Borasio our morning guy on 103.7 NNJ always does a phenomenal job every single year producing this, letting Vets be guest DJs on our radio station on Veteran's Day. It's one of my favorite days listening to the radio all year. If you are or know a Veteran with interest of getting involved, you can email Borasio by clicking here. It was fun today having my friend Frank who I met at Industry Kitchen & Bar in Sparta a couple of months ago, and having him get involved with our Vets Rock program. November 11th will be a fun, and memorable day where we can't honor those who have served.

Saturday morning I was pretty productive getting dry cleaning and laundry done. Not bad at all. The weather was already starting to become beautiful, so I went through with my plan on going to Lake Hopatcong. Lake Hopatcong is so absolutely fantastic. Every time after going there, I say to myself several times "why don't I come here more often again?" To be fair, when it was our first nice summer weekend in over a month a couple months ago and I couldn't even get a single parking space anywhere, that isn't one of the time I'm cartwheeling around the lake. That being said, 90% of the time while leaving I do say to myself "why don't I come here more often again?" Lake Hopatcong is such a gem with so many options. If one place is too packed, you might have another nearby option that's less crowded. My Saturday afternoon included lunch at Alice's, a fun round of mini golf or apparently as we call it here in Jersey "Putt putt," and then outside at The Windlass. Indeed, in New England we refer to mini golf as mini golf. Apparently here in Jersey we call it putt putt. All good. Six to one half dozen. This isn't like a spirited "is it taylor ham or pork roll?" Answer, taylor ham. I definitely enjoyed a beautiful afternoon at Lake Hopatcong. Perhaps everyone else was apple or pumpkin picking, and maybe that led to it not being as insanely packed as I feared. Either way I'll take that victory! It was an early night in for me, since I'd be getting up early Sunday morning going back to work. It was well worth it though!

Sunday morning it was an opening party at Audi Newton on 206 behind the Volkswagen World dealership. Even though Sundays at a car dealership in New Jersey are usually ghost towns since you can't buy cars in Jersey on Sundays, this was definitely not the case at Audi Newton. They had an exotic car show that ended up being much bigger than originally planned. A month ago during our planning meetings they were expecting maybe a dozen or so exotic cars. They ended up with approximately 150 cars! When you combine that with the three delicious food trucks, Barnyard BBQ, (which had pulled pork as an option thus can count as BBQ,) All Clucked Up, and Empanada Guy, plus our earliest ever opportunity to help Stuff The Bus, success!

The beautiful weather certainly didn't hurt either! It was so fun seeing a parade of exotic cars drive in, park, then go make donations to our friends at The Sussex County Division Of Social Services Food Pantry table right beside us. We had a phenomenal turnout and some great times. Many fun memories for sure!

After that event I went over to watch football at The Irish Cottage Inn in Franklin. I gotta keep myself in the running to win their trip to Ireland, right? LOL. I was able to watch my Patriots painfully lose to the Miami Dolphins. I never even asked to have them put on a different TV. I explained to everyone that "my Patriots are on the tv they deserved to be. Right over there in the corner, on probably the smallest TV we have here!" The Patriots should've won, but didn't. Ah well. At least The Giants won! It was also so much fun watching the thrilling Cincy Bengals Baltimore Ravens Overtime Game. My fantasy football teams are doing so bad not even Joe Burrow could help my Radioboyz, but all good. I still had a good time with friends watching football, and The Mets playoff game too.

Overall it was a fun Fall weekend for me here in New Jersey. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend!
