My Epic Weekend In Pictures: Fall Fun In The Tri-State!

This weekend I had so much fun seeing friends, and experiencing new things as well. Next weekend will honestly be much more Epic and I'm excited. I'm officiating another wedding! Can you believe it? I sure as bleep can't! LOL. It's still so surreal when I sign a marriage license as "Minister Steve Allan." I'm still hoping that lightning doesn't strike me while signing the marriage license. I am beyond honored and humbled to have a small part in the wedding of my friends, Denise and Nick. We started working on the script together and it's going great. I always brainstorm together with the couple leading up to their wedding. Even though I've done public speaking with my career many times and once in a great while can be rather funny, if I crack a joke during the wedding and everyone laughs but the bride, then we're defeating the purpose of trying to make enjoyable on her special day. No surprises! As we know there can be so many wedding day surprises, I don't want the script to be one of them. There are more than enough surprises already!

This weekend I had fun running some errands and hanging out with great friends. Friday afternoon I was able to meet up with besties Carrie, Christine, Chris and George at Alias Brewery in Vernon. After a round bestie Brad joined us too. The weather was absolutely spectacular. Success! They didn't have the IPA beer I enjoyed last month, but I was still able to have a New England IPA that was on their menu. Overall good good. Their pale ale lager was actually better for me than the New England IPA. I had a great time just enjoying simple, low key happy hour with my friends. Talk about a great way to start your weekend!

Saturday morning I did some minor errands, and then ventured out to Woodbury Commons. It was my first time there in probably a couple of months, just a quick nice visit. I then ventured out to Pure Terror in Monroe. I'm not really into Halloween much at all honestly. I'm not into horror, gore, screams, guts, all that stuff. I will admit to sometimes enjoying cute female Halloween costumes, even cute Pet costumes, but other than that, Halloween just isn't really my thing. I hate dressing up for Halloween. I can already tell you spoiler alert, I'll probably dress up as my former Patriots coach Bill Belichick yet again for the 4th year in a row. I have my Patriots hoody with the sleeves cut off and a headset. That's all I need for that. When a friend wanted me to go with her to Pure Terror, I figured, why the bleep not. It was probably my first time going to a haunted house since I was 13? Okay, so we're going on 30 years because I'm really old now!

Pure Terror was probably a fun haunted house if that's your thing. We went through all 13 of their separate haunted houses. They do a great job keeping the line moving. I'm very happy we went there early, that helped! Honestly the drive home from Monroe to my place in Vernon was just silence. I have great respect for all of the hard working folks who work there trying to make everything a fun experience. For me honestly? I was so tired from people screaming at me face to face with high pitch voices, I ended up with an awful headache. It felt like a fog after going to a bad, loud concert. My ears were ringing and I just felt foggy. Overall I'm still happy we did it. I'm sure it was a little more epic than just apple or pumpkin picking like when most folks do normal Fall like things.

Sunday was a great chill Football Sunday Funday. I was able to go over to Christine and Chris's where we had a great time. They made an awesome charcuterie board, and yummy pulled pork too. I was very happy that the Patriots played our first round draft pick Drake Maye. I'm still happy we took him, and even though we painfully lost yet again, at least you could see him making some progress. I kept saying "yeah we got crushed, but this is less painful to watch than what we've seen the past month!" At least he made some progress here and there.

My fantasy football teams? Not so much progress. Ugh! Tough year for me with injuries, that's for sure!

Overall I had a great weekend. Now it's time to start planning next weekend, which we already have. I think we are pretty close to where we want to be with the wedding script. Over the next couple of days I'll keep brainstorming with Denise and Nick, then once it's final, I'll spend the next couple of days practicing it. Pacing is key if you ever have to, errrr, GET to officiate a wedding. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Let's go for next weekend!
