My Epic Weekend In Pictures: I'm Getting A New Oven!

This weekend might not have been my most Epic Weekend In Pictures history, but I still had some fun along the way. The cold weather definitely put a damper on activities, but at least we didn't get any of the snow it looked like was possibly happening earlier in the week. Friday I was low key after a busy week at work. Long story short behind the scenes we had a ton of technical difficulties all at the same time. The outside of our radio station building has some frozen gutter issues, which led to at times both of our doors temporarily not working. Dealing with landlord building issues is not usually a fun time. Right in the middle of all this, our radio stations all lost power going off the air temporarily. This was basically a perfect storm timing with the accident taking down a pole on Route 23 in Franklin across from our building, while some of our computers were crashing. We were in the dark without power for 6 hours, basically because the closest to the scene of this accident were last to be able to get power back on again. Some of the computers have seen been fixed thank goodness. We were happy to have power back, and have at least had some temporary fixes for our doors. If you saw my Pet Of The Week behinds the scenes Facebook Live video, the leaking water from roof / gutter to on air studio window was getting dramatically worse just 24 hours after I first saw and reported it. Long week. I was so happy to catch a Batman movie marathon for my quiet Friday night in, that was just what the doctor ordered for me.

Friday night I was happy to see some of my friends at The Irish Cottage Inn in Franklin, get some laughs and try to shake off a tough week. Saturday morning was a cold but happy one for me. My friend Handyman Glenn and his Team were able to visit me and attempt to fix my broken oven. While my oven has always been old, New Year's Day the knob to turn it on and control temperature broke. I've popped it on before, but this time it was warped and the temperature gauge was spinning, broken. You wouldn't be able to accurately gauge the temperature even if turned on successfully. We tried fixing it to no avail, then I felt better when even Handyman Glenn and his Team couldn't fix it. They called my landlord Alex to tell him the verdict is in and yes I do need a new oven. I was joking with my friend Tracy about how for the past ten years, my brain automatically adds 5 minutes onto cooking time for any project because of my oven. They warned me I need to be careful and not burn everything I try cooking the next few months. This old habit will be tough to break but well worth when I do! After doing a little bit of Swiffing at my place, I was ready to go out for a late lunch at Industry Kitchen & Bar in Sparta. It was fun going to one of my home base spots, enjoying a Double Down Burger.

Saturday night I was able to enjoy Happy Hour at The Irish Cottage Inn with many of my besties. Let's try to name all of them hear going around left to right horseshoe style: Ed, Donna, Mayor Paul, Artie, Tim, Ed, Buckeye Paul, Handsome George, Kathy, Margie, and Teresa. I then ventured over to Nonna Vita Trattoria in Hamburg on 94. I wasn't that hungry, so why not try a pepperoni calzone? I was impressed! I had a great time with Margie, Artie and Donna. Nice, impromptu dinner with great friends.

Sunday I went down to Hackettstown seeing Girlfriend Brooks. I had some ideas on fun, new stuff for us to watch. Last week when hanging with besties Jasen and Brendan, they were watching this series on HBO Max called Industry. I found it rather interesting, and made a note of it to watch with Brooks on Sunday. I saw a later episode with Jasen and Brendan that was fun, we agreed it would be better for me to watch it from the start. Brooks and I watched the first episode, long story short at 2 in the afternoon we were both falling asleep on her couch. It was slow moving and rather sad at times! I'll give it a shot during one of those later seasons.

I couldn't make one of my other recommendations after that swing and miss. We ended up staying in dodging the cold weather outside, you looked outside and saw nobody else around in this normally active community. Nobody wanted to be hanging out outside this weekend! We ended up just watching Big Bang Theory reruns before watching Traitors then The Grammy Awards. I did enjoy Sabrina Carpenter's performance along with Alex Warren. I give Alex Warren credit for keeping it simple with a nice, good looking suit, and only one gimmick where the stage elevated him 20 feet above or so. Overall simple as far as Grammy Awards performances go.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my Epic Weekend In Pictures. Time to start planning next weekend. I think it's about time for me to return home in Mansfield, Massachusetts for the weekend seeing family, and watching The Patriots in The Super Bowl with them!
