I can count on one hand the number of times I've actually been successful keeping my New Year's resolutions. Most of us have a tough time. One of the reasons is motivation. We resolve to do something or not do something because it sounds good. In reality, we are not really motivated to follow through.
The other reason we fail at resolutions is because they simply move to the back burner when life gets complicated or hectic. So here are the two keys to being successful with your resolutions.
1. Set a resolution you'll be motivated to complete. Last year I resolved to do little things to keep my weight down. I lost 8 pounds from 2016 to 2017. I think the key was the "little things" part. Water instead of soda, no sugar in my coffee, salad instead of chips and fruit instead of cookies.
2. Put your resolution some where you will see it every day.
