How to turn off your brain before bed

Does your mind start to race when you put your head on the pillow? This is something that happens to me all the time. For many years the only way I've handled the problem is to stay up too late and go to bed exhausted. This is also why I sleep more in the afternoon when I get home from work. Judge Judy actually helps me fall asleep at 4 PM. My mind isn't racing and I doze off in between commercials!

According to sleep experts the problem is going to bed worrying about tomorrow. So here's what they say we should do:

1. Make a to do list for the next day. So you are not thinking about tomorrow when you go to bed.

2. Do something relaxing but not on a device

3. Do some light stretching

4. Use progressive muscle relaxation (sounds complicated)

5. Drink a cup of hot decaf tea.

Well, some of these are worth a try but I'm not going to give up Judge Judy!
