OK if you're wondering about the cucumber picture it's pretty simple. I picked the first cucumber out of my vegetable garden on Saturday. It tasted great. Hopefully, the first of many more to come.
Last weekend we finished cleaning and staining the pool deck. This weekend we started to clean and stain the deck off the dining room. After this deck is finished I'm done for a while. We got about halfway and ran out of stain. Gracie helped us wash down the deck before we stained it. Then since the hose was out she asked us to fill some water balloons. Which were later thrown at grandpa and mommy.
My son James has been trying to socialize Maddie a little more. Last week he took her to the store and this week he took her to the Riverside Creamery in Port Jervis. James works in the kitchen there. While she was outside in the picnic area one of the owners treated her to a vanilla cone. That's funny, I always have to pay for my vanilla cone. Maddie really enjoyed her visit and was well behaved.
The last picture is my son Matt's room. Matt moved out this past week and we are repainting the room because James wants to have his brother's old room. This whole process has left me with mixed emotions. Everyday I looked forward to seeing Matt when he got home from work. I will miss seeing him everyday. However, as a parent it's my job to raise kids who grow up to be independent and self sufficient. Matt has a very good job and he took his time finding an apartment he really likes. So if he's happy I'm happy.
