A New York State Trooper is facing several sex abuse charges after his arrest this past Saturday in Monroe. Matthew Stivala works out of Troop T which is responsible for patrolling the New York State Thruway in Orange County. According to State Police, Stivala and his alleged victim knew each other. He has been charged with one count of a first degree criminal sex act and two counts of first degree sexual abuse. The charges are based on multiple incidents. Stivala is 32 years old. He is currently being held in the Orange County Jail with cash bail set at $75 Thousand Dollars. He'll be back in court today.
