A 15 year old girl surfing off Stone Harbor's 109th Street Beach was bitten by a shark Sunday Afternoon. Stone Harbor Fire and Rescue were called to the scene. The young surfer was treated for cuts on her left foot and calf. She was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where she received six stiches to one of her wounds. Officials from the regional medical examiners office confirmed the lacerations were caused by a shark of "unknown size and type." Stone Harbor is in Cape May County. So far beaches will remain open for swimmers heading into Memorial Day Weekend.
