When I left WSUS Friday Afternoon I knew on Saturday we would be doing our final push for Backpack Snacks at Weis Markets in Franklin. Plans for Sunday were up in the air. I wanted to take my grand kids to breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Matamoras Fire House. Getting mom, dad and the grand kids all on the same page was another story. Finally, around 10 o'clock we made it to the firehouse. It was the first time the Matamoras Fire Department hosted Breakfast with the Easter Bunny and they did a great job with it. There was plenty of food and activities for the kids. One of my friends on the fire department even took Christopher over to see the actual fire engines and rescue boat. I am so happy I took them. In the afternoon there was a free Easter Egg Hunt at Airport Park. So we went to that too. Christopher went home with a huge stuffed animal. I'm not sure what kind of creature it is but he was very happy!
On Saturday Morning I was at Weis Markets in Franklin for our last day to donate to Back Pack Snacks for Kids. It was great to see everyone who donated. I still think we got some generous donations in spite of all the rain. One listener's comment on our Facebook Post made my day. My long time friend Colleen said that I "looked great." So do you think she meant I looked great or that I looked great for my age? Thank You to everyone who donated throughout the whole campaign. So many local kids will eat better because of you!
