Tomorrow's Special Olympics Torch Run will complicate the morning commute

This year's Special Olympics Torch Run will take place tomorrow in communities across New Jersey. This year more than 3.000 law enforcement officers will be running. This annual event raises millions of dollars for Special Olympics every year. Unfortunately, the traffic delays the torch run causes are expected to be made worse by this week's Route 15 bridge closure. All we can do is give you the times the torch run will be traveling along Sussex County Roads. So you can plan ahead.

At 6 o'clock tomorrow morning the first leg of the run will begin at the Wantage Municipal Building and proceed south along Route 23 reaching Hamburg around 7:10. A second leg of the run will begin at Mountain Creek at 6:40. Then proceed south along Route 94 into Hamburg. Where it will join the first leg. All of the runners will then travel south on Route 23. Then make a right turn onto Route 517 and travel south into Sparta. In Sparta the runners will turn left onto Route 620. Then onto Route 181 south. Then take Route 605 into Hopatcong.

This leg of the run that starts in Sussex County comes to an end in Somerville around 3:30 PM.
