I will always believe my grandson from now on. On Saturday I took Chris and Gracie to Urban Air indoor amusement park in Middletown. It was an unplanned trip. My daughter asked me to take both kids because they were asking her. Chris and I went there only two weeks ago and had a great time. It was a cloudy day and I was bored. We packed up the Christmas Tree, ornaments and lights in the morning. The tree itself was a pretty comical sight. Tipped over in the corner of the living room. The cats enjoyed climbing in it all week. It was time. So with that chore done, I said "Urban Air again lets go for it." I told both kids grandpa can't do this all the time. Once a month is OK. So off we went at 1 o'clock. Gracie is a very quiet child. She spends a lot of time in her room when it's cold outside. It was great to see her running around. I also loved watching the two of them having fun together. We had dinner at the food court and got in my car to go home.
Then Christopher told us he didn't have his Spiderman Jacket. He was very upset. Gracie and I didn't think he wore it. Chris begged me to go back in and check Urban Air. The parking lot was crowded. It was foggy and dark. I told him it was probably home. If it wasn't we could buy him a new one. I didn't go back into Urban Air to check. He cried most of the way home. When we got home his jacket wasn't there. He was heart broken. I felt awful for not believing him. Both of us were in tears. In desperation I called Urban Air and spoke to Allison the General Manager. She said she had the jacket! Someone turned it in. My prayer was answered.
On Sunday we drove back to Middletown and Allison got to return Christopher's Spiderman Jacket in person. All of us were so happy this story ended with a smiling little boy. Thank You so much Allison. To make it up to him I bought Chris something he wanted from Santa but did not get. We looked all over the Galleria and finally found a real Labubu. It was expensive but I bought one for him. I felt I had to do something special because I disappointed him when I did not believe him. Then we went to Adams Farm Store for lunch. I love their pizza! We got some great New York State Apple Cider too. This could have been a very sad weekend. I'm grateful everything worked out. I will never doubt that sweet little boy again.
In other family news. My son Matt gave me a very nice sweatshirt Friday Afternoon. It was too small for him so it became a belated Christmas gift for me. I can finally semi-retire my old stained North Face Jacket. Thank You Matt!
